Hemp blend PLUS
Some horses are really picky eaters. They immediately detect bitter substances and refuse supplementary feed that other horses eat without problems.
The Hemp Blend PLUS is the answer to this — a blend of the most valuable parts of the hemp plant (hemp seeds, hemp leaves and hemp flour), supplemented with high-quality magnesium citrate of pharmaceutical quality. So far, it has been gladly eaten by all horses — even by the pickiest ones.
A holistic source of vital nutrients from essential amino acids, omega fatty acids, antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and trace elements — without stinging nettle and without added zinc.

"Even my otherwise picky Tinker loves the hemp mixture PLUS. I am thrilled!"

The medicinal plant called "hemp"
Hemp was used thousands of years ago by the ancient Egyptians and Chinese as a valuable medicinal plant and fountain of youth. Because of its extreme density of vital substances, this plant is also called the “most complete source of food” in the world. In this unique Hemp PLUS mixture, the most valuable hemp plant is combined with pure magnesium, which is so important for horses.

Which supplement is right for my horse — Booster, Hemp Blend PLUS, or pure magnesium?
Which supplement is right for my horse — Booster, Hemp Blend PLUS, or pure magnesium?
That depends on the horse.
- Metabolism Booster — if there's a suspected zinc deficiency. Zinc is added separately here as a trace element.
- Hemp Blend PLUS — if the horse is extremely picky or finicky. To date, it has been eaten by all horses.
- Pure Magnesium — as an intermittent course, especially for horses with high performance demands or heavy sweating.
For PSSM1 horses, the Hemp Blend PLUS is generally recommended, as PSSM1 horses should not be fed too much chromium-containing nettle. However, there are also many positive reports from PSSM1 horse owners who have fed the Booster despite the low nettle content. If in doubt, clarify the feeding of horses with metabolic issues with your vet.
Alternating between products makes sense for a varied horse diet.
When is the best time to start a course of treatment?
When is the best time to start a course of treatment?
Basically anytime. Support during shedding is particularly important—this always begins at the solstices, i.e., on December 21st and June 21st.
When does the horse's coat change begin?
When does the horse's coat change begin?
Whenever the days get shorter or longer again—i.e., on December 21st and June 21st. Ideally, the coat change should be supported from this point onwards, especially for horses with eczema, itching, a weak immune system, or a tendency to mud fever.
The coat change does not only begin when the hair falls out—it stresses the organism much earlier. Therefore: support less fit horses right from the start, not just when the coat change is visible.
Do I have to feed the supplement daily or is 4 times a week sufficient?
Do I have to feed the supplement daily or is 4 times a week sufficient?
The effect will be quicker if the supplementary feed is given more often. But a feed supplement 4 times a week is better than none. Simply as often and as regularly as possible.
In what order should I administer the courses?
That depends on the horse's constitution and basic diet. A proven sequence:
- Spring — 2 kg initial course with the metabolism booster for the coat change
- Summer — pure magnesium (increased need due to training and sweating)
- Autumn — metabolism booster again for the autumn coat change
- Winter — winter strength as support for the cold season
How long should I feed the supplement?
How long should I feed the supplement?
This depends on the goal:
- Shedding season — until the horse has finished shedding its coat
- Stable move, training phase, muscle building, immune system boost — as a course, until the horse is "back in its stride"
In most cases, an initial course of at least 2 kg is advisable. For horses with noticeable issues, often 3 kg at a time, followed by maintenance feeding of 1 kg with 2 to 3 servings per week.
How long does it take for the effects to kick in?
How long does it take for the effects to kick in?
Between 3 days and about one month — depending on metabolism and many other factors such as weather changes, coat changes or grass composition.
Nervous horses usually become calmer, while phlegmatic horses become more lively and vital. Both weight and temperament usually show a positive effect towards "inner balance".

Yes, with very positive feedback from practice — and for all Horse Vitality Company products.
Which supplemental feed do you recommend for poor horn growth?
Which supplemental feed do you recommend for poor horn growth?
The metabolism booster. The combination of hemp amino acids, added zinc, metabolism-stimulating magnesium, and nettle is very valuable for healthy hoof growth. We have received a lot of positive feedback from practice.
Should I also feed other mineral feed, supplementary feed, or herbs?
Should I also feed other mineral feed, supplementary feed, or herbs?
Normally not. When feeding individually, the effect can be observed most accurately. In addition, the calcium content in many supplementary feeds for horses is very high — this can significantly hinder the absorption of zinc and magnesium.
In the case of special deficiency symptoms or abnormalities, an additional administration may be useful — please always discuss this with the veterinarian.
Can I also give selenium during the treatment?
Can I also give selenium during the treatment?
Selenium is better absorbed in combination with zinc — it can be combined well with Metabolic Booster or Hemp Blend PLUS. However, selenium treatments should always be discussed with your vet, as an overdose can quickly become toxic.
How long can I store the opened Booster or Hemp Blend PLUS?
How long can I store the opened Booster or Hemp Blend PLUS?
Store in a dark, cool, and well-sealed place. Minerals and trace elements are not lost during this process — however, natural vitamins from the herbs, such as vitamin E, may decrease over a longer period. Since the important trace elements are preserved, the mixture is also well-suited for longer storage times.
Tip: It is best to order together with stable colleagues, then the package will be used up faster.
