Why does my horse need CBD oil?
In their daily lives, horses are exposed to a variety of stressors: training, competitions, stable changes, age-related changes, or longer recovery periods can affect their inner balance.
CBD (cannabidiol) is a natural plant substance from the hemp plant that is being intensively researched and is primarily known for its interaction with the body's own endocannabinoid system. This system plays a role in regulating stress responses, the nervous system, and general well-being – even in animals.
CBD oil is therefore not understood as a medication, but as a supplementary component to support daily well-being. Its easy dosage, good acceptance, and the ability to flexibly integrate the oil into existing feeding routines are particularly valued.
Developed with equine therapist Sandra Fencl & loved by thousands of horses across Europe
In her work, equine therapist Sandra Fencl increasingly encountered horses with metabolic abnormalities and feeding-related complaints. From this observation and the lack of truly high-quality supplementary feeds available, the collaboration with the Katharinen Pharmacy in Unterhaching began in 2019.

- for anxiety
- to increase mobility

- to calm stress and nervousness
Even if your horse is doing well, it can have a positive effect on its coat and hoof quality and support the body as it ages. In the case of more serious illnesses and/or the taking of medication, you should definitely discuss the administration with your vet beforehand and determine the correct dosage. Usually, a dosage of 50 mg CBD per 100 kg of the horse's body weight is assumed. It can be given under the tongue, where the mucous membranes absorb it more quickly, or simply mixed into the feed. Please start with a low dosage and increase it slowly.
When animals suffer, their owners naturally worry and try to find a solution. On the one hand, they want their animals to get better, but on the other hand, they don't want the animals to have to take medication long-term, which usually comes with sometimes severe side effects. Therefore, they are always looking for natural remedies that help their animals. CBD oil is one such natural remedy. In recent years, CBD has become increasingly important. After many users have already had good experiences with CBD, animals should also benefit from it. And as it has been shown, this also works very well. CBD oil can unfold the effects attributed to it in animals too, and even without any side effects. More and more pet owners are trying CBD for their animals.
